Charity Fundraising Event: December 5th, 2007We welcome you to a charity auction and fine-dining event filled with wine, music, and entertainment. The night's festivities will be hosted by two fabulous (and very famous) guests -- Our very own, Chade Meng Tan, the Google Guy of NY Times' fame, and Matthieu Ricard, the inspiring Buddhist monk, photographer, brain-researcher, interpreter for the Dalai Lama, and "the happiest man alive." With instruments singing, wine abounding and hilarious hosts, this promises to be an evening to remember, so book your tickets as soon as possible! Attire is Festive Dress. Performances by: Lauren Speeth, Violin, Guitar Violinist in the Peninsula Symphony since 2000, and solo performer in the United States and abroad. Her recording credits include: Rejuve (violin, 2007); Tammy Hall: Reflections (violin II, 2006); The elfenworks holiday album (vocals, A Felicidade, 2005); the elfenworks motion picture bumper soundtrack (violin II, 2004); A Joy Restored (violin, 2002); and John Watkins & Hiroshi Iguchi's Chinese Tea (flute, 1983). Josh Workman, Guitar Guitarist Josh Workman currently leads his own trio and tours with actress/vocalist Lynda Carter. His studio and tour credits also include Debbie Harry, the Jazz Passengers, Larry Vuckovich, Jon Hendricks, Indigo Swing, Hot Club of San Francisco, Groove Collective, Brian Setzer, Lionel Hampton, Rosemary Clooney, and others. His commercial recording credits include work for Nintendo, Ubisoft, Apple, and various television and film productions. He also teaches privately and writes for Guitar Player Magazine. Don Kane, Bass, Clarinet A native of San Francisco and a much sought after musician, Don Kane has worked, recorded and toured with Eddie Arnold in Nashville and has also toured with Skeeter Davis, Xavier Cugat, Bob Crosby, Sammy Kaye, and Sounds of Joy. In his own group, Crosswinds, he plays a number of instruments including guitar, bass, clarinet and tenor sax. For the past 25 years his group Crosswinds has backed up Val Diamond, star of Beach Blanket Babylon, in her concert work. Has also sung with Masterworks Chorale in San Mateo. Don Studied bass with Chuck Rainey and Carol Kaye and i s forever thankful to Dr. Susan MacKinnon at the Center for Advanced Medicine for pioneering nerve surgery in November to restore functionality to his arms after a motorcycle accident this summer. |
